This blog is home to writings that expose the realities of life as a Christian woman in the 21st century. Realities that are often blunt and unpleasant, along with realities that are true, beautiful, and unchanging. Building God's Kingdom on earth is a job for every soul, both men, and women alike. However, women have a unique part to play and a special role that God created just for them in His beautiful world. Women have a large role in the grand scheme of things and this will be a central theme of this blog. Women play an integral part in the family and the breakdown of the family is something that has had a rippling and devastating effect upon modern society. Our focus is on the role that women play in the family and in turn, in the world. While not all women are called to marriage and family life, they are still called to be a critical member of the family of souls that exists in this world. A family cannot exist without a woman, therefore it is the duty of every woman to fulfill that God-given privilege of being nurturers of the family, whether it be in a traditional family, or in the families that exist in convents, communities, places of work, and throughout our world. This blog will discuss truths about married life, family life, friendships, faith, work, prayer, and a woman's relationship with her Heavenly Father and her role on earth. We discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly, and we look at life as it is, disentangling the misconceptions that often cloud the reality of life as a woman in the way God intended and the crosses we bear as we strive for Heaven.
These two quotes embody the theme of this blog and the purpose of its writings:
"To a great extent, the level of any civilization is the level of its womanhood"
- Archbishop Fulton Sheen
"As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live"
- Pope John Paul II
